A raised up, Outback looking sedan. I don't think they were too popular...

All of the 1997-1999 Outback have non-functional hood scoops. Their sole purpose on the car was to collect water and soak to top of the engine causing some reliability problems. There were a few recalls to seal the hood scoop.

Did they not continue it with the model change in 2000? I thought they did. Has it been dropped? The cars101 site would probably tell me... but no time to look right now.

At the dealership where I work I've seen quite a few post 2000 Outback sedans.
