I have a 94Loyale. EA82 non turbo auto with single injector in throttle body.
When I bought the car there was a lack of power at mid rpm range and it seemed to be surging when you put the throttle down. Kind of felt like loss of vaccum. Unless you went full throttle and kicked down into first gear.
Spark plugs showed lean condition.
I switched out the Mass air flow sensor with a used unit from PULL a Part in lynwood and problem solved.
It is the device between the Air filter and the throttle body. I wish I had suspected it a little earlier , would have saved a little time
