Clunk coming from my steering gear

many clunks can disguise themselves....

 

 

frequently balljoints, or top bearings of the strut can make sounds

when worn out..

 

also, i think the rack has an adjustment, most do, which might

solve that clunk, but i would have a real good look at the other junk under there too..

DOH

 

sorry, other parts include,

ball joints,

inner and outer tie rod ends,

strut top bearing,

the u-joint on the steering column also sometimes croaks

 

really helps if you find someone to oscillate the wheel while you

look/feel for the loose part(s).
