My '78 Brat is being revived!

Recommended Posts

Thanks to a fellow board member, LUVMYBRAT, my '78 Brat is getting some love and attention that it has been lacking since i moved to Wyoming. It is currently a shell of a car but it has been media blasted and covered with a black epoxy primer to prevent rust while sitting outside. Maybe one of these weekends, Bill (LUVMYBRAT) and I can get together and get the bodywork done on it since its pretty minimal except for the core support under the battery tray. Here's a few pics of it as of 2/27/07...

Russ, you need to post a sign our there "Laramie Brat Company" or "Brats R Us". Looks like the start of a good project. Recently saw a pretty nice '80 Brat DL for sale around here, but they wanted $3500 for it. Seemed too high to me, but it disappeared in a few days, so I guess they sold it. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress. My 86 Hatch just keeps running like a clock, so I never have any problems to post about.

The other two Brats aren't mine, those belong to LUVMYBRAT. The red gen 2 which is in the center is an '84 turboBrat with mucho rust issues so it was stripped for its drivetrain and the beige one on the end is a '79 DL thats going to be donating parts to mine.
