Goatboy Posted November 25, 2003 Share Posted November 25, 2003 Mine just slides off but I have seen some on other car makes that have a screw in the top or in the side of the Rotor. jdub Posted November 25, 2003 Share Posted November 25, 2003 The guys at the Vortex BBS told me to take a pair of vise grips or Channellocks and carefully crush the rotor! I wouldn't do this unless your dist. has a cover between the rotor and the body of the dist to prevent junk from falling in. However, if you are careful, you might be able to cause a crack in the rotor body and peel it away. BTW, the rotors on the VW are glued on. That's why they are such a PITA. MilesFox Posted November 25, 2003 Share Posted November 25, 2003 look for a screw on the side. if its not there, give it a good yank, may have to grab onto it with pliers. dont take the screw out of the top, because that holds the distributor shaft together!
