Oregon Region invites you to attend their NORPAC Divisional RallyCross event on May 5-6th which is part of the National RallyCross Series (contingency monies available). Courses are pretty wide open with few cones to hit and usually a slalom (or 2) and sometimes a 360 degree skidpad element.
Details still coming together, but looks to be a short PRACTICE (test/tune) session on Saturday morning, followed by runs for National competitors only on Sat afternoon and then a full Regional/National event on Sunday (i.e. you can just run the regional, the national, or both). Entry fees for NATIONAL and NATIONAL/REGIONAL being determined now. No host party scheduled for the Farmhouse Restaurant's bar from 5pm to 7pm (informal watering hole at the HQ hotel, organizers to buy the appetizers...).
Event will take place on the 10 acre grass field at the Washington County Fairplex in Hillsboro, OR. Field is flat, but with some ruts from previous events. Recent bulldozer work has flattened the field considerably and we should have a smooth racing surface (Thanks BEN and BEN!). The Red Lion hotel (3500 NE Cornell Rd, Hillsboro) is literally right next door... Ask for "Primitive RALLY SCHOOL" rate of $64/single 503-648-3500 google earth has satellite views of the field (even see old course designs) http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF-8...l=en&tab=wl&q= (use 3500 NE Cornell, Hillsboro, 97124) or
See details and registration info to appear at:
www.oregonrally.com some general info at: www.scca.org
Contact Ben Bradley for more info: bradley "at" reed.edu
Ben is also looking for some help ORGANIZING this event. If you would like to help make it happen, please contact him.
More info to be posted on this in the Pacific Northwest forum of SPECIALSTAGE.com over coming days. You NO. CAL guys are fast! Come on up and mix it up with the NW crowd. We would love to see you. I THINK entry fee will be about $65 for the National (2 days of runs).... We KNOW the NW/PRG guys are quick, please join us as well.
(Oregon Trail Rally organizing has put this event a little behind in planning, but it should be a good one, including a challenging course and GREAT COMPETITION)

Well, there are good news and bad news items to report about temporary SCCA memberships for this coming weekend's Oregon Region/ORG national/divisional RallyCross.
The good news is that there will be no charge for temporary memberships, so pretty much anyone who wants to can run the national/divisional event. It is valid for 90 days.
The bad news is that contingency programs won't kick in with these. You have to be an SCCA member, with a membership number, to be eligible for contingency payouts. One can join SCCA online ahead of the event, or
Pego from the SCCA Rally Department will be there on Saturday with membership forms, and one can join then. But to be eligible for contingency money, one has to be an actual (not temporary) SCCA member.
One can accrue points on a temporary membership, at least for 90 days, but if you are going to run for a championship, one has to join SCCA. Similarly, since the RallyCross National Championship event in Nebraska
is a national championship, one must be an actual SCCA member to participate in that event.
Apologies for the late clarification.
Ben

I've been watching it for the last two days and I'm pretty sure it's been off and on raining, especially at night. Plus judging from Ben's pics of the field before they bull-dozed it, the field is still pretty soggy from the previous month's rain.Pretty, cool, it constantly updates. Partly cloudy as of now.
