Guest korrupt66
I have the chance to buy a 90 legacy that has a "bad" clutch. The owner said he put a clutch in and drove it for three months and it went again. Is that possible? I don't have much experience with Legacys or clutches so any help would be great. 1990 Legacy awd 120,00 miles Korrupt66
Guest wrxsubaru
How many miles did he put on this new clutch? I dont see how a person could wear a clutch out in 3 months unless he was doing alot of high rpm drops on that clutch.
Guest korrupt66
I guy is older and said that he took it out in the woods a couple times and put about 10,000 in mostly highway miles before it messed up again. I looked under the car and he didn't drive it hard in the woods form what I can tell. Korrupt66

Guest wrxsubaru
Yeah, when I took my dads 90 legacy awd 5spd off road, burnt clutch was pretty regular if you had to start of a hill or sand, but thats when the clutch already had 30,000 to 40,000 thousand miles on it. If you end up getting the car replace the clutch with a 91 or later clutch, subaru increased the size of the clutch 1/8 of a inch. We have the newer clutch in my dads car and it does feel better and does'ent burn nearly as easily.
