Check out this pic of Troy's Brakes! (on his 84 wagon)

i saw a mustang with a rotor like that. thats what you get at a buy-here-pay-here lot

my 83 turbo had a busted rotor, it was so bad that the radial part came separated from the part that bolts to the hub.

jim's brat had a rotor that did the same.

how thin was the pad(i mean what was left of it?)

I've lost count on the number of cars I've seen like that.

Owner brings the car to me, says the brakes just started to make noise. Like what?!? You deaf or something??

Don't remember the exact make of car. But one had been ran so long, that it had worn the piston down.

Had another that the rear shoes had worn down to just the center rib. One heck of a groove in the drum, almost cut in half.

Really like it when someone brings me a car with way iffy brakes. I do them all up right, proper adjustments, and what not. Owner comes to get car, takes off down the road, and screeches to a stop at the stop sign. Well, way short of the stop sign, really. They're so used to driving on iffy brakes, they don't remember what good brakes were.

LOL and I thought it was bad when I ran my car metal to metal... I can't understand how no one would NOTICE that... My car made horrible noises as the pads wore down to the rivits.... Unfortunataly I did damage to the roters cause I had a long ways to go before I was home. But they turned out and work fine now. One of them is to it's Minimal thickness... I tell ya I'm used to breathing on the pedal and the car stops on a dime. I've gotten in some cars where I panic when I hit the breaks cause it's not Stopping! lol:lol:

Back in my Cutlass Calais, I had a brake pad split in half and fall off. Nothing but the rivets on the rotor... made a metal on metal noise that I never want to hear again, outside of a Nascar race. I only drove it home, being real gentle on the brakes, maybe ten miles at most, but...
