Sad to say, but a search of You Tube turned up more offroad videos of Syncros than of Subarus. Dang hippy buses are fairly capable rigs. Shows what diff locks can do for ya. Too bad they're expensive and sort of rare.

and incredibly slow. I've been looking for one to throw a soobie engine in, but painfully rare here.

I've seen a few cheap Syncros with dead engines that I wish I swooped on. With a Soob engine I could actually see owning one. I had a "bread loaf" VW camper for a while but that cramped engine bay killed my neck every time I worked on it. If I ever have another, I'll make that whole rear end open up for easy engine access. There was video (that I didn't post) of a Subaru powered Sycro climbing some gnarly rock ledges. Not a rock buggy, but for a camping rig, nice.

There are a couple of them on the yahoo list. They say people are amazed when they get passed by EJ powered vans, as they are usually the slowest things on 4 wheels on the planet.
