For the price you could get some real rally tires. (and proly a cheap spare set of wheels to put them on)http://www.taborrallyteam.com/silverstone/silverstone.html

But then you would have to run in a modified class.

So if you're looking to stay in stock class then those do look like they could be good. :)

Just gotta watch out as some events even look at agressive street tires as modified. Check what the maximum tread gap requirements are where you race.

they are 195/65/r16 so that's 1.1 inches bigger than stock. so roughly 1/2 increase in radius.

Decent tread pattern.

kinda pricey at $165 each.

Actual tire size is not the determinant for bumping you out of Stock class. Check what rules your club uses; most clubs use the SCCA rallycross rules. Definition of stock tires can be found there. Studless Blizzack snow tires seem to be the preferred "stock" tire. I'm sure they are available in 16" size and also much less expensive than these. Check the rulebook for what's allowed in Stock class.

True.

Guess I was using the "modified" term too loosely. :)

That's okay; you're not the first.:) Sorry, I'm touchy to that topic since I run in "Prepared" which usually just means I have fancy tires. I personally don't think strut bars are significant enough (in cost or performance) to justify the jump from SA to PA, but the rules are the rules.

No problem.

I've gotten bummed about running in a class I didn't want to run in too.

Took the moldy (no door seal, it was bad) interior out of my RX7, put me in modified, rest of the car is stock, tires are half worn out street tires.

But we're drifting off topic kinda now. :)
