Diff lock wont turn off

Recommended Posts

Are all your tires the same size, brand, and tread wear? Try driving onto a loose surface- gravel or wet grass- and try unlocking it there. Flip the switch to off and drive straight in both forward and reverse. If it turns off, then it's most likely a tire issue.

I'll add to TROGs comment. Switch it in and put the car in reverse with the wheels straight, let the clutch out slow and flip the switch while letting the clutch take up the weight of the car. No? Do it again. Mines a bit slow sometimes. This is how mine switches off.

Get on a loose surface, and 'wiggle' the car around in 1st, going slow, and then in reverse....it should unlock. Ive had to do that once with my RX...if you use the diff lock reguarly, like find a dirt road, and use it once a week or so, it becomes easy'er to engage and dissengage.

With regard to the vac lines...if you play with those long enuff, you'll figure out where they go! Thats what I've always done...but ive never messed with the diff lock lines.

I figured out most of the vacuum lines. My heater works. There was one line that would act like WOT when i connected it to a vacuum source. I would connect it and start the car and it would rev up by itself. It went to 5k in a few seconds and would have kept going if I hadn't turned it off.
