Anything I should know about replacing intake manifold gaskets

Recommended Posts

i would take it to the car wash, wrap a bag around the disty, and go to town with the pressure washer, to get all the dirt off the engine.

then make sure you drain the coolant system as much as possible to keep the green stuff out of your intake port, when you take the intake off.

other than that, just dont strip the bolts out, and maybe use new ones when you put it bak on

Thanks! I figured I should do something like that; even bought some engine degreaser to hose it down with before I wash the engine. You think that's a good idea?

I am still wondering how to scrape off the old gasket without dropping half of it into pistons!

Okami and I have 2 engines currently "disassembled" and we can show you the process on a block thats out and on a banch at his place.

of course...... you could email me directly and i can give you the phone number over there too.

that way the suggestions and sites of the specifics Arc is refering too can be made visually obvious and a little get-together could occur too.
