Subaru trouble code reader

What brand and model of trouble code reader do you folks use? How much? Do you recommend it?

What kind of car you using it on?

 

ODBII or an older car? Older than ODBII you dont need a reader, and ODBII you need a standard reader like Actron or other brands have available online for all ODBII cars, or a "Select Monitor" from Subaru which apparently is a more detailed reader but more expensive.

I will be using it on a 1993 Impreza

That would be one that has no odbII so you can pull your own codes.
