subarubrat
Is anyone aware of the actual side by side differences between them? Or between the EA82 and XT6 starters?
mudrat79
Starters are Identical all the way up through the Legacy and Impreza..... I haven't physically touched an OutBack or Baja, but I'll put money on them being the same also..... Why bother a good thing...... Later, John in Oregon..... P.S. What age Toyota Flares did you use....I forgot, and need to buy a set for a Ride....??????
subarubrat
My EA81 starter turned the ER27 over fine at stock compression but it is not doing as hot as I would like at the current build. Parts houses list different part numbers, none have them on hand for comparison. Flares are Bushwhacker cut outs for 89 Toyota 4x4 truck. mudrat79
Well outward appearances, my 97 2.2 Starter is identical to My 86 Ea-81....? I wonder if they are wound differently inside for higher amperage in start mode for heavier kick......?
NanoSoob
If I recall correctly, aren't starters for vehicles with automatic transmissions supposed to be a little more heavy-duty? It might be worth checking into... ~NanoSoob
