Are axles splined the same on the tranny end and the wheel end?

Reason I ask...

I'm buying a bunch of brake stuff from SubaruTex. He recently did the 5-lug conversion on his RX, so his front control arms and brakes and everything aren't being used.

My question... would my existing axles (5spd D/R EA82) be able to fit into his control arms (from an AWD EA82T)?

I know the axles are splined different... but is this on both ends, or only the transmission end?

It'd be really neat if I can just bolt the whole arm onto my axles... because I have really bad wheel bearings and his are in good shape.

I think you can do what you are asking - but your question is phased a bit weird - there's no way to "compare" the splines on the wheel end and the splines on the tranny end, as the wheel end has a shaft that fits through the hub, and it's smooth. What I'm trying to say is the axle has a male and a female end - you can't make any comparison with them - apples and oranges.

Your axles should go into his old hubs tho - I don't see why not.

The reason I was phrasing it the way I did...

My axles are not the same as his. Right now, he has the control arm, brakes, and axles all still attached and sitting in his garage.

The axle looks exactly the same as mine, but I know I can't just bolt it right in to my tranny because it's splined differently. I wanted to know if the opposite end was the same way.. splined differently so it wouldnt fit into my existing arm.

Yes - you will have to put your axles into his hubs. You are correct that his axles will not work, but your terminology is a little skewed. The axle does not "fit into" the control arm - it goes through the steering knuckle (which is attached to the "control arm" with a ball joint.), and is splined to the hub, which is bolted to the brake disc. The control arm itself has zilch to do with the axle, and should fit any EA82 car.

does the parts you are getton the axles too. if the axles are there, you can swap the whole mess on as one piece.

do you have the struts with your parts?

the axle on the outer end will fit, and the splines are tha same for the rotor mo matter what the axle

however your pars come, thet ca be installed as an assembly.
