AS far as I know the rears are the same, I have 4WD XT6 rear control arms in my turbowagon, with the wagon struts. As for the front, they are different. You could either use 2WD XT6 struts, which will bolt right in, or you can use Legacy struts, which work but I think you need to grind out the tower a little bit where teh strut bolts in at the top.

As for the air ride, I have no idea

Diff lock - that unlabled switch might be it, if I remember correctly the diff lock in an XT is on the center console and its a flat switch, it's not a turn switch like in the RX.

Two things that will lock up the diff lock (rectangular switch on console) Tires of different sizes or inflation or a vacuum leak at or near the vacuum selenoid. You could possibly manually shift the lever from under the car.

I'm not sure about actual fitment of the GL struts but I do know they are much longer and prferably, you are looking for 2wd XT-6 struts, they are non-air and they are short.

I can't help with the other questions.

If you're thinking about 86ing the air ride and going to regular struts, I recall back in July I searched the archives and found a aprticularly good set of articles that dealt with the different struts and mods needed - name brands and costs - to make the swap. It would be worth the time to do the search.

There is also a thermal overload breaker built into the compressor motor. I ran into 2 of them that appearently the compressor had run too much and burned out (expired) this internal safety. One comperssor, I opened up and bypassed that thing, cleaned brushes and comm. I know, probably not the best thing to do, but I got another year out of that compressor untill I loaned it to someone else. (My car was down needing a drive shaft.) The air supspension is coool, but can take some $$$, patience, and/or electro-mechanical abilities to keep going. I'm in hopes my air ride outlasts my XT-6. Iv've been on air for 3 years now and will miss it when gone.
