Rooinater Posted February 15, 2008 Share Posted February 15, 2008 no, not for the yota... But from Petroworks! the suzuki's exhuast has a bunch of rust and several large holes. The suzuki is presently my daily driver, (for now) so it takes priority #1. New Doug Thorley Header and a 2" turbo muffler, along with a new timing cover. the timing cover has a hole in it and the bottom section is missing... next month i need to replace the cam seal and that timing cover. i noticed the cam seal leaking away and little runs down the side of the engine. no oil drops where i park though. no blue smoke in the exhaust, but i go through about a quart every 2 tank of gas. slowly tracking down the seals that are leaking and replacing them. Next Package from the tax return... presently on the waiting list... Petroworks "It's Alive" CV Carb kit. remachined intake, with a Screaming Eagle (Harley Davidson) 44mm Constant Velocity Carb mounted in a true sidedraft. fully jetted and setup, remove the stock junk and bolt on the head, hook up the throttle, choke and fuel, then you are ready to roll. reason for changing the carb... carb is shot, choke no workie, horrid gas mileage now... i was getting an avg around 26 miles a gallon... then as the carb started leaking and the choke started staying open... the gas mileage is around 17 to18 mpg... rebuilt carb per spec, leaking stopped but there is some serious issues and major parts that are bad. it was only 200 bucks more to get a new intake, fully jetted and ready to rock performance carb, that won't sacrifice my gas mileage much. most people i've read or talked to running this kit are getting about the same mpg as stock. unless your heavy on the skinny pedal. Rooinater Posted February 22, 2008 Author Share Posted February 22, 2008 nah, can't lift that header yet... it only came in stainless steel... the exhaust manifold was rusted out, leaks all through out the exhaust... and the carb can't be salvaged. it's my daily driver and requires first attention, 17mpg is not acceptable for a stock samurai... the end of march, on my break from school, if i can lift things again, i'm planning on doing some work on the yota. dad and i are installing the ring and pinions and lockers into the toyota. along with the v6 rear housing. the highsteer onto the axle, tubbing the front fenders, and if i can get a rebuild kit for the front tcase, assembling the dual cases, but only if i can lift stuff. then to finish repairing lil' roo, but if they fix my payments soon i'll sell the subaru. if not, then i'm holding onto it untill after memorial day weekend's camp out. yeah, i'm feeling better. still hurt real bad, but better than the other day. I realized I like to go fast more than go anywhere. i like to go fast, i just attempt to limit myself to fast vehicles offroad... that way i don't get tickets. i.e. my atv and why i sold my cruiser... soon to be a dirtbike instead of an atv as soon as i get the title for the atv... the next project after the toyota is done, is a ford ranger setup as a class 7 SCORE race truck. i want to attempt to race the 1000 before i turn 35... and something to go hauling in the dunes with. in 3 years i'll be really tight on cash till i graduate... so at that point most things will be put on hold.
