MAP Sensor location?

I am looking for the MAP sensor on a 94 2.2L Impreza?
The Chiltons does not have a diagram, I only know that
it has 3 wires 1,2,3 I did find what I think is it but the
connector is labeled A,B,C.

If this is it the voltage values are way out of range,
any idea on cost, do they go bad often?

Any one have a photo of this sensor?

Bill it was my understanding that the MAP sensor style FI was introduced on the 2000 Impreza, up to then they used a MAF to sense air flow

Well I am getting a P0106 Manifold Absolute Pressure /
Barometric Pressure Circuit Range / Performance Problem.

The Chiltons says there is a MAP Sensor, The photo just
says "Under Cover" and there is a MAF sensor also.
I doln't know why they did not remove the cover for the Pic?

I believe the MAP sensor is on the right strut tower somewhere??? Don't hold me to that though...

The MAF sensor is a big sensor between your airbox and intake hose, that's not easily missed ;)

I may be able to help.

I have a 97 auto OB. I found out earlier this year that I do indeed have a "MAP" sensor. However, it is not for the air-fuel ratios. I do have a hot wire MAF for that.

On my car, it was a tiny black cube with a couple of mounting hole ears that is mounted on the passenger side strut tower. It has 3 wires going to it, and a couple of vacuum hoses. It senses manifold vacuum and is an input to the TCU's shift algorithms.

I don't know just where you might find it on a 94, but I suspect the same general area.

I was getting a PO400 code (EGR malfunction). It turned out to be this sensor. This sensor looks for a change in manifold vacuum when the EGR valve is opened. (A secondary function I was told.) Interestingly, I had noticed that my shifts were a little "off". Bit slow, hesitant, almost like a tiny bit of slipping. After the sensor was changed, the shifting returned to normal. And the EGR code went away.

The little sucker was expensive. Over $400 Cdn. Someone told me about $240 US list.

I did see that gizmo on the strut tower, I will have to check
to see if the voltage is within range on that one.

The chiltons does say that the MAP sensor has a plug
and a pipe fitting for a vacum hose. This is getting
confusing.

OH, I am also getting the P0400 EGR code.
