billybob3
I've read directions that said in order to program the remote for a 98 Outback, you do the following: OPen drivers door, turn key to ON, hold down programming button(under dash) for 15 seconds, locks will cycle 3 times, press lock button on remotes. Well, I've held down the programming button for ages, and nothing happens. How do I "reset" this? Or, am I missing something?
billybob3
If I knew this about Subaru, I would have never bought a Subaru. But, since I have driven one for a while, I love it no matter what. Here's the solution to my problem: I looked at the button, and there was a loose wire above it. So, I spent about 10 minutes trying to get the stupid button loose, only to discover that the connector on the loose wire was broken! I didn't even know this button existed until today. I'm the original owner...so, that must mean that it came this way; broken. I used some electrical tape and taped it back together. Now, I can get the system to enter programming mode, but when I hit the lock button on my controllers, nothing happens. Anyone have any suggestions?
