being as i am kinda tall, about 6' 3". i was wondering...
i have a gen 1 brat [81]. its in real nice shape and i really like it, however there is one thing that bothers me about it.
it does not have much leg room.
as there are no subarus around my area, i do not have a gen 2 brat to compare it to.
does anyone have any opinions on interior size, leg room, head room etc. on the later brat compared to the earlier brat?
thanks for any input.

There's no doubt that there is less room in th 1st Gen. I own and drive both and the difference is huge. Even if it is only a matter of a few square inches, the feel is much larger. However I enjoy driving the 78 more because of the solid feel of the control, sound of the engine quick response etc... it is a fun car to drive.

Ask Qman about this, I had this discussion with him awhile back.

somebody did a pretty decent job of fixing all the rust issues a long time ago, but it's back as always.... some pics can be seen in my signature link. it's an automatic.
I didn't really expect you to say yes
I really don't need anymore brats, and just need to sell my turbo and 78 in the spring anyway.....

I am 6' 2" and 200 lbs - I have no problem at all in my 85. Plenty of head room. Not great on the leg room, but it's fine - no problem to drive, and not uncomfortable for long periods.

I've had eight of the old school gen. 1 brats and just this last nov. I got an '82 wow. I'm not verticaly tall but I'm horizontally tall (250 just to boost my selfesteam really 272) and It's a heck of a lot better than the old one, but a brat is a brat gen 1 or gen 2 I'll drive it.
but i do like the gen 2 more.

well calbez, i guess i do owe you for answering my questions about the auto to 5spd d/r swap last summer.
if it wasnt for you i still wouldnt have a clutch pedal in my wagon.
maybe i will keep the gen 1 and get a gen 2 when i get my taxes back...
always good to add another to the stable, right?
