Guest TDOG67
Folks, Recently got my '97 OBW back from shop for leaky head gasket, changed timing belt, water pump. I changed the oil at 200,400 and switched to purolator oil filter from Fram like suggested. Now the engine is much noiser, either the piston slap or noisy valves, don't know which? How do I tell which it is and what can be done for the situation. I use semi-synthetic 10w-40 every 5000 miles. thanks Tracy
Guest intrigueing
Slap noise usually decreases / stops when the engine is warm. If the problem appeared after a timing belt and head gasket change, take it back and have them figure it out.
