Guidance on gasket sealer - Oil Pump

What is the correct procedure with the gasket sealer

on the oil pump since there is no true gasket?

 

Apply to one or both surfaces, assemble wet, tacky, or dry?

I don't want any leaks!

 

I was surprised there was no gasket, I have never been a fan of silicone sealers but that is what Liberty said was used

so I ordered it.

use grey rtv it works pretty much only on aluminum and quite well. follow the directions on the tube and you'll be a set.

I do not know what model you have, but on the current model 2.5 that we build, we use a lint free cloth covered sponge to wet the pump surface before we apply the sealer. The sealer is made by Three-Bond.
