86subaru Posted February 24, 2009 Author Share Posted February 24, 2009 update , brother-in-law, checked overflow tank and said it was bone dry, he states not to remove cap, because it states it in the manual, so i asked him again , did you start the van and check to see if it needed any more , his response was it's fine, my guess it needs more and possible leak some where, he does not believe in maintence at all , Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
crash321 Posted February 24, 2009 Share Posted February 24, 2009 If that is the case, then he may just be low. Convince him to take the cap off and fill er up. He may be all right if he hasn't noticed anything in the cabin (steamed windows, sweet smell, ect). He should replace the radiator cap, he could be losing the fluid there. nipper Posted February 24, 2009 Share Posted February 24, 2009 Always fill up the radiator with the car running, optherwise you can get a false full reading or an airbubble in the cooling system.
