offroadsubaruguy Posted January 18, 2004 Author Share Posted January 18, 2004 well, its making it idle funny, and for some reason it wouldnt start the other day, it just clicked and wouldnt start.... it cranked just fine, but it wouldnt start.........while i was trying toi start it it was flashing the code number 35 at me.......maybe its just coincidence, i dunno...... Nuwan Posted January 18, 2004 Share Posted January 18, 2004 your problem is somewhere else, a faulty purge control solenoid will not hinder your cars driveability... it will only slightly affect your fuel mileage not sure where you are but this problem may be due to cold weather, check electrical system (ie: battery, alternatorr, starter) good luck:D Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Erik R Posted January 18, 2004 Share Posted January 18, 2004 I had mine go out on me about 5 years ago.............the CEL never came on, but it was enough to make me fail an emissions test. Upon removing the cover, I saw the code being flashed...... This wouldn't keep your car from starting, mine ran fine when it was bad......it just made my HC readings go way up..... Both the purge solenoid and the EGR solenoid are poorly mounted.....too close to all the engine heat, makes them sticky and eventually fail.
