TheSubaruJunkie
My fuel pump has 2 wires going to it, pos and neg. Both are black but one has a white stripe. Does anyone know which is Postitive? -Brian
Sweet82
Brian, I believe this was covered recently, I think it was Miles that said it was the black one with the white stripe. On my 82 the black one white stripe is positive and the black one with the brown rings is a ground. Good luck, Glenn
Rooinater
blue/yellow on car wire harness and black/white on the pump's wire harness are the hot wires. or at least on my car that's how it's wired.
the_bard
If they're following normal wiring conventions (as much as I learned of them livin' on the farm, at least), solid black should always be ground. It follows then that the other lead should supply the power. 'Course, if someone has rewired it, or changed things...
torxxx
I ran into the same problem somewhere else in the car, and yes black with white stripe is the hot wire.. if theres a solid black wire involved, its always usually the ground
