rear shocks in lift sube

Mikldom, My twin brother, put ea-82 coil-overs in the back of his 6" lifted brat. The reason he did it was because his torsion bar took a dump on the downtown tunnel in Norfolk a couple of months ago.

 

He said it wasn't too hard. I will get him to take a look and post.

How about air shocks instead. That way you could adjust the overload spring rate. Haven't tried it, just an idea.

Shocks spec'ed for Toyota Landcruiser FJ60 are the correct length for a 3" lift. They do allow more downtravel in flexy situations so it's possible for the axles to hyper-extend out of the inboard joint. I only had that happen a couple of times though so not a big concern and can be remedied with the "Rguyver axle mod."

I have "Bug Pack" coil over shocks on Summer. The coils can be removed and they become regular shocks again. I figure this will give me some flexability in tuning the suspension to my terrain.
