cctopper
Hello, I am new to the subarus I would like to use a 2006 2.5 Forester SOHC engine which I have and a Legacy 4EAT Transaxle in a rear engine design like the old VW. I know that the Subaru ring and pinions are hypoid design and not flippable. I believe that i can take the Reduction Drive and Driven gear at the tail shaft and change to a double roller chain and sprocket to reverse the differential only and remove the tail shaft and cap off. I also know that the hypoid ring and pinions are not designed to drive in reverse on the coast side, Don't know how strong and how long will the front differential will last. This vehicle should weigh about 1500 Lbs. Please give me any thoughts or suggestions. Thanks Bryan
