I would assume the direction is a CCW to remove, I don't want to assume though. On my 1st car some bone head broke the bolt off and cracked the pully. To sell the car he rewelded the pully back on. after 2 days of driving the weld broke and I needed a new engine. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If you don't have the correct harmonic balancer tool you can cheat by putting your breaker bar over by the battery tray and hitting the key to get it loose. 98sub2500leg Posted May 12, 2009 Author Share Posted May 12, 2009 Hi Dave, I have the engine out on a stand. Just got back from town (again) to pick up a 22mm 1/2" deep socket. I recently broke down and purchased the IR 2131QT 1/2" impact that was on sale at Sears for 149. They had been going for 120 or so USED on Ebay. My main reason for getting it was that it has 600 ft/lb in reverse. Occasionally none of my 3 impacts will remove that bolt so I had to go borrow someone else's gun. I don't like to borrow tools. Good luck with the removel - but yea - standard threads. I have trouble with about 1 in 10 it seems. The bolt came off using the 22mm with a 1/2" drive and a 3/4" x 2' blk pipe cheeter bar.
