My fleet of JNC's

Recommended Posts

I posted in a different thread about my "collection" of old school japanese cars and said I'd post up some pics. Well, here they are. First the runners.

1966 Datsun SPL311 Roadster. This was a 6 year frame up restoration just completed about 6 months ago.

1973 Datsun 240Z. Almost all original. I'm the 3rd owner.

1972 Datsun B110 (1200). I have owned this car since 1994. Was "freshened up" back in 1996. I plan on doing a full resto on her after I finish the other projects.

2909921790070852740S500x500Q85.jpg

1977 Honda Accord. Bought this last Dec. from the original owner.

1975 Mazda REPU. Bought this a couple years ago from the original owner family.

1975 Dodge Colt Wagon. I have replaced the engine/trans with a 4G64/5 speed from a 1992 Mighty Max pickup. Fuel injection is nice!

1972 Dodge Colt Coupe. Got this last summer. It's in real nice near original condition.

Now the projects

1972 Toyota Corolla Wagon. It's getting a full restoration along with a 6G72 Mits V6 conversion.

1971 Datsun 510 Wagon. This one was saved from a wrecking yard.

So there you go!

DAMN! What a sweet collection! Where to start....The Roadster is awesome, is that a original color? I dont think Ive ever seen one in that shade. The Z, well the original was the best, and its sportin the original wheel covers! How often do you see that? But the B110/1200... Oh, do I have memories of that car! I had a '71, and this was at the height of the 'Dukes of Hazzard' show (the first time around) We did it up in Hemi orange, with the flag on the roof, the O1 on the doors, the push bar up front....I even got the 'dixie' air horns from JC Whitney. 13 inch mags, it was a 'mini-General' And that car does look like a mini-Charger.. One of my all-time favorites, and a car I wish to own again... this time as a stock 1200 Fastback.

The 510 wagon..... My FIRST Nissan ever was a '71 510 4 door... Had the Borg Warner automatic, that made it quite a slug. LOL I used to drop that thing into 'D' after I floored it, and I'd get a little 'chirp' from the rear tires. My sister had a '69 2 door, 4 speed, and I was so pissed.. but dad bought both cars for us...you takes what is available at that time... lol. A ton of years later, I still predominantly drive Nissan products. Upstairs in the garage is a NOS bumper for a 510, still wrapped in Japanese paper, along with a lot of other s**t Ive probably forgotton about

...Ive worked at the dealer for over 30 years

Those are some awesome cars, man, but the 1200 Coupe is the star in my mind. If you ever want to part with it, give me a shot

Thanks for the comments. The Roadster is actually a 91' Ford Festiva Teal. The 1200 is my baby. Of all my cars, this would be the last one to go if I had to sell them off (unless I get one of those "offers you can't refuse") My first running car was a 1968 510 4 door. I kinda realized way back then (20 years ago) that the 68's were kind of special, due to all the differences between it and the later models. If I had it today, it would not have been sold. I have driven those B/W autos and they, to put it mildly, blow.

yeah, the B/W auto (and the Jap automatic they used in '72 and '73) sucked all the fun outta a 510. But great cars... bulletproof. Except for the rust... you are lucky to be in CA, where some survive. There are no Nissans/Datsuns from those days left in my parts... I imported a '95 truck from Petaluma, CA because virtually all the Hardbodies from around here have gone to the crusher. My first 'brand new' car was a '79 310GX. Not a car that has earned any respect over the years, and it probably doesnt deserve the accolades that the Z's and 510's get. But it was my first new car... if I got the chance, I'd own another of those too. I still know the VIN... how sick is that? KHN10 000851 RIP, my little silver beauty. LOL!

Yeah, the 310 was a decent little car. You are right about the no respect part. Just found out today my Roadster was pictured in a Japanese auto magazine called Lightning. A friend sent me the pic. This was taken at the 2008 JCCS show.

Kinda cool to have a pic in a mag, even if I didn't know!

I had an Accord almost exactly like yours..except it was an 81 and blue... what an awesome car it was 550K miles and still ran like a champ.

I am partial to vintage import over the American Muscle anymore..rarity factor probably. I was within inches of trading my 83 Subaru coupe for a TR7 not to long ago.

Those pics make me miss some of my oldies...my B210 wagon..and my Karman Ghia and my 82 Prelude

  • 1 month later...

Nice collection. :)

All I have is a beat up (but not too bad) '83 RX7 GLS sitting behind the shop.

Was a project at one time then the engine seals went (still runs great, just lots of white smoke). Trans bearings went.

Money got diverted to the Soob as it required less of it.

I can't seem to part with it though. One day I guess I hope to have the extra funds to throw at it again.

Holy oldies Datsunrides!!! You are my new best friend! You wanna know why? This picture is why ^_^...

So, uh... would love to pick your brain a little if you've done any work on those colts!

The buildup of the wagon is here

Have not done anything to the coupe, yet.

Sweet ^_^. Yeah, I just joined that forum too... I'd like to ask you though, do you know any good way of getting the tail light pigtails replaced in these? My sockets are good so I might have to just solder them, but I would love to just replace the harnesses back there. Seems to be a hard to find item though :P.
