Are they full time AWD or selectable 2wd/awd like the 4wd boxes here? Can't imagine it's cheap to get one from all the way across the pond, how much are you paying to ship that thing? If you don't mind me asking.
Yeah they're full time AWD! I researched this for like 7-8 years and shopped for 6-7.
I toyed with the idea of an EA82 4x4 swap but woul want it geared to 4.11 for my oversize tires, BUT i really love AWD and didn't want FWD. It's a tossup b/c it won't be a locked center like an EA box, BUT it'll be full time AWD and a low gear. It should be like USDM forester gearing (with a nice 5th, when compared to our gen 1 OB's high-spun 5th), but with a decent low.
Sure, not as awesome as an EA82's 1.59:1, but not as lame as the typical 1.19:1... AND it's a bolt on application.
You could get a loyale 3.9 FD or a 2nd gen OB or FOR with 4.11 FD but they'd have 1.19:1 low, then you could swap in 4.11's AND 1.59:1 low, but you're cracking and marrying 3 transmissions to do it. This way it's a really good combination and no opening to do...
:confused:umm yeah, its a penny to ship, a pretty penny. a little over a grand
As far as I know it's like the 3rd DR AWD to make it over the pond. I found a shop in Canada with 2-3 but he wanted waaaay too much for them, plus shipping.
Also there's this shop that builds them, but again they wanted like $815 for a used one not gone through, plus about a grand shipping...http://www.alldrivesubaroo.com.au/
anyhoo, it's supposedly being shipped out Monday... I've been working on shipping since November.
But we're getting there
