  1. Hey bro, welcome to the forum! Where in Arizona are you located? I'm way down in the south-east corner in Sierra Vista. Dave
  2. Really diggin' the gold enkeis! Nice Brat you got there!
  3. Hey Subaru Fans! I'm in process of replacing the 5mt tranny in my moms '97 Outback, I noticed it leaking at the extension housing when I was filling it with oil. So, I looked up the procedure, and looked like all I need to do is remove the back plate. The center diff came out with it. Now the diff doesn't seem to be seating all the way in(I removed it from the shaft on the rear plate and installed it by itself)). The gear on the tail shaft hits the body of the diff. Do I need to persuade the diff with a mallet to seat it all the way? If this is clear as mud I'll post a pic later, but right now I'm off to school! thanks Dave
  4. SUCCESS!!!! Got it out safe and sound. I couldn't get my spring compressors around the spring with the car on the ground, so I put it back on jack stands and put the jack under the ball joint for support. Then I disconnected the radius rod and tie rod from the knuckle but it still wouldn't drop far enough. So then I moved the jack to under the hub so I could disconnect the ball joint from the knuckle. That allowed the spring to decompress enough for me to get the spring compressors on the spring and be able to remove it from the car. Thanks for the words of wisdom and caution guys, it was a bit scary. Dave
  5. It's all good guys, I'm stil alive :-) Haven't had a chance to work on it because of school. but will be tomorrow if the weather cooperates.
  6. Hey peeps, I've got an issue with my car, the passenger side front strut top retainer nut has backed off and now the only thing keeping the spring from going twang is the limit of the suspension. heres a pic: This was taken with the car on jackstands. Anyone have any ideas on how to get this out of the car without bad things happening? thanks Dave
  7. Nice ride you got there Trusty, love the way EA82s look with the two-tone paint scheme
  8. The ER27 in the XT6 is based on the 4 cyl. EA82 (basically the 4 cyl. with 2 more cylinders added) and the EA82 only has 1 exhaust port per head.
  9. Have fun everyone, the AZ crew won't be making it this year
  10. Wow that thing is SICK! what motor you using?
