  1. EGR can be deleted without making engine trouble. And is super simple and easy system to fix if that's actually an issue. Evap issues? like blowby? or vac leaks? EGR and EVAP are fairly passive sytems and shouldn't make the car run bad. The reason I ask, is because if you are thinking it's EGR and EVAP, it may actually be Fuel injection issues. In that case a weber would wake that motor right up. If it's blow-by/burning oil......it needs rings. Pretty easy to do while engine is out for headgaskets. just pull pistons after heads are off and clean out the landings and replace rings.

  2. it does. By holding the brake, and stopping the axles from rotating, they become firmly tensioned against the CV cup walls. This effectively becomes a tripod mount that becomes stationary, taking away the vibration dampening of the rubber mount. It happens in Subarus more than other makes because of the relatively long, angled, and equal length axles.....making an even triangle that stiffly locks the trans firm in relation to the body.

  3. a little update that GD gave me. car is having some paint done this weekend. next week the engine get dropped in , tuned and tested! Guess the headlights had moisture in them so they took care of that and are putting 2011 wrx heads on it. he was also able to get a rear spoiler for it! Just wanted to say that General Disorder has been awesome to work with. <------cant say this enough on a side note i kind of had a freak out moment. i got a 1 way ticket through frontier and the other night i got an email saying that the ticket had been changed. when i called i got a messege saying that it was a computer glitch, to check online and that call wait times were over 60 minutes. when i checked online everything was fine. I used to like flying when i was younger, now it just seems like a huge hassle countdown: roughly 312 hours give or take a few

  4. I did this on my EJ'd Brumby....i machined a 7"long 1/4" wall sleeve with welding slots out of 4140 with a 5 thou interference and heated and shrank it onto the shafts and plug welded the slots....do not weld the ends of the sleeve as this creates a single point weak zone around the entire shaft in the heat affected zone of the weld. those shafts ran for years until i had to get the vehicle inspected and the inspector failed them for not being OEM parts. 5. I need to get the parts yet! Tomorrow I’ll be near the L, then I can go from there on the postage. Cheers Bennie

  6. yes they are subaru gaskets. that's the only way to go. I'm pretty sure my intake needs machining.

  7. Makes sense - I’d say more so for the time it takes to heat up the catalytic converter to allow the ecu to run with the O2 sensor in operation for emissions. Cheers Bennie

  8. Just fix whats wrong. Unless you are saying something like excessive blow by is fouling the egr. At this point, finding a good engine that just needs a reaeal is the easiest way to go. EJ swap has all those advantages, but it is a lot more work than a drop in.

  9. Might be better off buying one that has not been crashed and needs an engine. It may be less work and costs effective.

  10. Actually I do mean when idling in gear, like stopped at a light, which is why I joked "demonic possession". Makes no sense, but there it is anyway! Throw the car in neutral and the vibration disappears. It has been suggested that transmission mount may be at fault (and I do have one that is torn) but I had no issue prior to replacement of axle.
