  1. I will try and post a pic of it later on today with my temporary fix. Thanks so much for all the help.
  2. jumped the starter like you guys said and the car cranks just fine but no start. I checked for voltage coming into the ignition switch underneath the dash and there was none. kept tracing the wire into the fuse box under the hood. There is one jumper wire inside the box, it had voltage on one side and none on the other which made no sense. the middle of the wire was eaten or melted away and it was only held together by little bit of outer wire cover. I stripped the wire and tied it together and car starts and runs just like it should again. Thanks a lot for the help.
  3. I just got a 91 legacy. Its been sitting in a yard for almost a year. When you turn the key, nothing happens, not even a clicking sound from the starter. I've charged the battery and tested good. I've been trying to diagnose the problem with a voltmeter, and the ignition is not getting any juice. The starter gets full 12V at the + terminal, however, the other terminal on the starter (start terminal) gets no voltage at all. I replaced the starter with a new one from autozone. The car started right up and run great. Took it for a test drive around the block and it died on me. Now i'm back to the same problem. No voltage again at the start terminal on the starter. I don't want to spend another $100 on a new starter again without diagnosing what's causing the starter to go bad. Could it be the ignition? I don't know where to go from here. Thanks for any help.
