  1. I may be an inquisitive idiot ( because there are no stupid questions), but with 118,000 miles on the clock did anyone suggest checking the thermostat before jumping straight to head gasket replacement? I mean if elevated engine temp is the only symptom and there is no power loss or clouds of white smoke how does this signify head gasket? I'm no expert, but I am curious.
  2. We have two Outback Wagons. My 2000 limited has 248,000 with only wear items being replaced and my wife has a 2002 with 168,000 miles on the clock. Best cars we've ever owned. DB
  3. Well we just added our second Subaru to the stable! I have a 2000 outback limited that we bought new and have put 242,000 miles on. Now the missus has a 2002 Outback that we picked up about 30 minutes ago. Merry Christmas to us! Anybody need a '92 Dodge full size conversion van? Just kidding, We're probably going to donate it. The little lady was just giddy when it only took $25 to fill up her vehicle.   5. I'm an instructor at a technical school in NE Ohio, we get lots of folks in from out of state/country and they tend to get rental cars. I've seen the same 05 outback twice now in our lot and confirmed it to be a rental. Oh, and Cookie, nice to see a fellow burner on the board. DB

  7. Merguires has kept my seats quite well in my 2000 OBW and thats through 240,000 miles and 2 kids that like to spill things.... alot. DB

  12. This looks AWESOME. My only critique would be that I would have tried to put the bolt heads on the sides to aid in sliding off of obstacles. As it looks now there are 32 teeth to bite into logs and such and impede progress. Just my .02 DB

    Tube Doors

    Those tube doors ROCK! I have wanted to "skeletonize" a subie for quite some time and make an ultralight trail rig. Your doors are very similar to what I've had in mind. Excellent work! DB
  14. Isetta's were manufactured under license from BMW in several countries. For the record, Isettas were available in three and four wheel configurations depending on where they were manufactured. You would see a lot of three wheelers in places like the UK where the "road tax" was excessively high for four wheeled vehicles. Love the mid engine set-up on this one though!
