  1. I bought the car cause I thought it was a fair price (They where originally asking 8500, they screwed up on the craiglist ad (So they said) and I got it for 5500 Flat) I had been looking for some time and the closet I could get in the 3500 area was a Impreza Outback in not so great condition. As for the car, tires are pretty new. I just replaced the windshield, it has some weather related damage but no rust (My last car was more rust then car and I wanted less rust) Overall the car runs great. I think it may have a little bit of a clutch issue cause it sometime gives me problems shifting into 1st and reverse where I have to let go of the clutch and push it back in. I think with colorado springs the price is higher then most places and especially when it is a all wheel drive car getting close winter.
  2. Here in Colorado Springs we have E-10 for most of the year and during the summer for some reason they switch to 100% Gasoline. I have actually noticed I get better milage on E-10 so I hate when they switch over.
  3. 3500? Really... For colorado springs kbb says $9,725 I payed 5500 for mine from the dealership. Headgasket has been replaced and overall has been running fine since I got it (I think it has almost been a month now) I want to know where I could get one for 3500...
  4. Just wondering what would you pay for a 1999 Legacy Outback with a manual transmission, ABS, All Wheel Drive (Dont they all have that at this point?) AC, and a very good audio system? It is blue and has minor scratches. 125,000 Miles on it. If there is any other questions ask away.
  5. Just out of Curiosity has anyone tried using E-85 Fuel on there subarus? Are there subarus that use E-85 Fuel? And on the Subarus that don't have that listed has anyone tried it on them? I have no plans on using E-85 fuel but I have heard stories of people using it on cars that are not made for that fuel and it working with no noticeable damage. I was just wanting to see if any of you have tried it...
  6. No vibrations that I think are harmful (Everything feels ok...) I think its more bumpy colorado roads.
  7. Just bought a Blue 99 Outback... (After several months of searching for a nice one in my price range). Anyway I noticed at higher speeds the mirror likes to shake and I was wondering what is the best way to fix that, also it seems loose... Thanks in Advance.
  8. It is a 1988 Could someone explain which one is the Ej88 Engine?
  9. Found it at a dealship right before they where going to sell it to mexico... Payed 1800 for it (I wish we could have talked um down more cause the engine is going to need some work, I will post some engine pics tonight)
  10. The dealship's price was to much for my taste, but my dad did buy it lol. And the rule is no modifications period... So I am looking for a Impreza atm
  11. Well first off I did buy it, I will have pictures soon. And I defiantly noticed the transmission is a little different then the automatic in my 86.
  12. I got free Autocheck for the next 60-90 Days Email Me christopherbrosz@yahoo.com And I will run it for you (This offer is free for anyone else also)
  13. AC doesnt work on it, however I do plan on getting it fixed (I believe it just needs a recharge, anyone got some freon? ) But with AC on those old wagons a pay very close to the temperature on the car along with battery power (My old gl was rather psychotic about its AC)
  14. Hmmm A Intercooler might not be a bad idea... However my dad doesnt want me to frankenstein this thing to much... Could someone point me in the direction of a thread with instalation tips? I tried the search... and didnt come up with much.
  15. No Modifying for me... Just going to keep it stock, except for maybe some filters and stuff.
  16. Ok thats what I thought thanks for clarifying
  17. Can someone fill me in on what is so funny? I am not very mechanically oriented...
  18. Im not that mechanically oriented so I dont plan on modifying anything but maybe the stereo. How much more power can I expect from the turbo compared to my 86 wagon which has a 1.8L Single Port Fuel Injected engine with the same automatic transmission?
  19. I fully agree on the car with souls idea... My 86 has one hell of personality and it gets down right annoying sometimes. Ask anyone who rides with me. My car has a habit of talking me, and no I dont need meds, all you have to do is ask the car a question... The car normally ideals at about 800 RPMs and to answer yes it revs up to 1500 and no is about 200... To bad I will be replacing "Old Yeller" soon with a 88 turbo that has no rust and in general better condition. Anyone willing to adopt?
  20. I am a little worried about that. There is defiantly a oil residue like it either has at one time had a bad leak, or currently leaks.
  21. Autocheck and Carfax reports show up clean, it seems like a garaged car...
  22. I have been out all day looking around for some decent old imprezas... failed... But I found a 1988 GL-10 Turbo with no rust, no dents, no paint problems, and the interior looks brand new (It seems to be some sort of pillow top design kind of weird for me but hey its comfy). It has 150000 miles on it and the engine looks like it is in good condition other then it may leak oil or has leaked oil at some time. Its a automatic and not four wheel drive (I was kinda looking for a 4wd car and maybe stick but hey this car is awesome looking). Interior wise it has the works, cruise control, sunroof, powered everything, trip computer, and one of those digital speedometer things). So What do you all think? Are there problems with the turbos? I really dont know much about that aspect of the GLs. Anyway thanks for the look!
  23. Sorry about the 1988 thing its fixed, Im so used to talking about the old GLs that it slipped
