  1. definately vacuum, i replaced half shafts and accidentally disconnected the line to the manifold and mine only blew through the vent too. good luck
  2. i can tell you the 'brain' of the autobelts is in the truck up underneath between the rear speakers.
  3. no, it does shift into second cold and it will while driving if you manually shift it into neutral and then pull it back down into 2 but will not kick down after slowing down. is the kickdown electronic or is it vacuum?
  4. my ea82 3at has a trans quirk. i'm sure your thinking that it is the well documented governor, done that. when i bought it it came with a reconstructed title and i see that the computer is from another 92 that was a 5 speed. (writen in yellow paint pen on the underside of the unit like it came from a bone yard) it will not kick down from drive into 2 and also tries to over-rev 1 and then go dirrectly into drive. could this be due to the computer being from a standard? i would think that it would be from a vacuum problem. suggestions? thanks
  5. i got it, it was getting hung up on the trans mount. when i had the car up in the air i never thought it would be a problem. the fsm just said to drop the support rail, nothing about the trans mounting bracket. thanks all for your input.
  6. it's a manual, the only thing that i can think is do i have to pull the clutch fork? i didn't think u had to do that when seperating the two but i have never pulled one with a manual before. i took the six bolts out of the pressure plate, or atleast that's what i think it is, by going throught the starter hole and rotating the engine over. any ideas?
  7. finally got around to pull the engine on the justy. for some reason i can only get the block about and inch/inch and a half apart from the bellhousing. the engine will pivot from rad support to firewall and i have tried several different angles for the lift. is there something I'm missing?
  8. most all justy's that i have ever seen in a bone yard have between 95 and 115k on them. i believe one of the main reasons for this is that it is such a pain in the @#$% to change the oil filter. the only thing "bad" about the justy's are those with the ecvt transmissions. (flawed by design) however some people have good luck with them, i have a 2wd ecvt in my parts car that works great and that has about 90k on it i think. be warry of any leaks as the gaskets for them are big $$$$. also the body style switched in 89 and alot of the 89-94 parts will interchange but there are some that are 89 only. hope that helps.
  9. I can tell you that while driving my loyale in a 55 doing about 72 wednesday i was passed by 4wd ecvt that didn't just limp by:eek: , . Had me doing a double-take.
  10. IC. I do recall hearing that the flex plate / flywheel are different. I know on my '90 ecvt that it doesn't have the extra cross member that my '89 rs has. What are you planning on doing with the 4wd aspect? Wouldn't it be easier to get a 5 spd from a 2wd model?
  11. why not put the 3 cyl from the ecvt into the 4wd 5spd justy?
  12. did some searching and didn't find what i was looking for. have a '92 loyale with auto belts. the passengers side has decided to stop working now. i would think that it is something simple because it worked up until just a bit ago, luckily it is stuck in the back position. it seems as though it might be in the latch part itself as the dash will ding at me if the belt isn't physically pulled to be down toward the floorboard. is there anyway to check the latch itself? the little woman has a '93 legacy with em and they work rather the belt is latched or not. is there any way to reset them? i tried 'wiggeling' the control unit wires located in the trunk but all seemed good. thanks for your input. Mark
  13. we all have our moments. soobs are alittle different like that. the parking light toggle and the headlights turning off with the ignition. i used to think that soobs had daytime running lights long before anyone else did. lol.
