  1. Hey, I was just wondering if the 04' WRX Wagon was turbo-charged? I appriciate it! Thanks, Ryan
  2. Hey, I know there is a great number of Denver residents on this site. I was wondering if there are any around the Carbondale Rifle areas? Thanks, Ryan
  3. Okay, Thank You Much! I really appriciate the help! Thanks, Ryan
  4. bloody hell...does anyone agree on anything? It is a 1985 Subaru Brat 4x4 carburated EA-81 engine and a 4 speed manual transmission. I was told by ccr that it has solid lifters...
  5. Ive talked to CCR, they rebuild subaru engines. I was told that the EA-81 engine has solid rockers, therefore one of the rockers or the valves probally needs adjusted. Prior to owning my brat I had a 99' Mitsubishi Mirage which had a clicking noise which came and left when it pleased. In its case I was told that it was a stuck rocker, or that the oil had caused sludge build up around one of the rockers causing it to stick. In that case I was recommended to find an engine detergant which you add to your oil prior to changing it. My Brat clicks all the time and the click just speeds up with the higher RPM. I am going to see if the lifters or valves need adjusted this weekend. I will let you know if it gets the clicking to stop! Thanks, Ryan
  6. It is an 85', the click increases with the engine rpm. It is definately comming from the engine itself, not the wheels or axles. I have heard acoupple things which may be causing it, i will check thoes.. Thank You all!
  7. Hey, Okay, whenever I drive my brat there is an extremely loud clicking sound; it wont go away. Does anyone else have this problem or know possibly what it is? Do the EA81's have solid rockers? Thanks, Ryan
  8. Hey, Ive got another quetion. MY brat says the $wd is on when it is on a hill, it also begins shuttering in idle. Also when on a hill the tranny will not shift. If is like it binds up for some reason? Any ideas on how to fix this? Thank you everyone for all your help! Thanks, Ryan NEW: It will not come out of 4wd now, not at all, we have tried adjusting the linkage, pulling off the linkage...everything. You think it is the transmission mounts? Ill change them out i guess! Thanks!
  9. Does the 85' Brat have power stearing.. We were tearing through mine today and could not find a fluid reserve or cylinder. Just curious? Thanks, Ryan
  10. Hey, So Im working on my brat getting it tuned up. I just got this brat yesterday. Whenever I turn it on the oil pressure needle slowly creeps up to around 70-75 psi. Any ideas as to what may be causing this? I have the right amount of oil in it, so thats not the problem. Help is appriciated! Thanks, Ryan
  11. Hey guys, I just got my brat back up here and it really needs some serious wiring work. I was wondering if anyone knew where I can get an entire new wiring harness to replace the mess that is in there? Thanks in advance! Ryan
  12. I have heard that if you put a larger carb on the standard 85' brat engine you can get a few more horsepower. Is this true? what else can I do without having to do an entire engine swap? What carb would you guys put on it? I appriciate any information! Thanks, Ryan
  13. Im wondering if a 1981 Brat Topper will fit on my 85' Brat. I really appriciate any information or advice! Thanks, Ryan
