  1. Yea, but the Sexy-super-sexy black monotone 2004 LL bean is like 6hrs away... the 2005 is like 20minutes away
  2. Well, it looks like my car is just about sold...so I've been narrowing my search for a replacement. I am going to stick with an Outback, just newer and a Automatic. My options are 2004 LL Bean ~50,000miles or 2005 LL Bean ~50,000miles Both are about the same price, the 2005 is actually a lower asking price, but I think I have more room to work with the '04 So my question is; What would you do? I hear that the '05+ don't handle the road as well as the previous generations. I hear that the '05+ feel more like a suv. I do not want that, if it is true. I want a outback that still handles the road like a car. Of course I am going to test drive them, just wanted to see what you folks think.
  3. There is a button. There is also a little heater icon on the mirrors Yes, it does have the cold weather pkg.... http://www.cars101.com/outback_archive95-97.html
  4. I know on an old VW I had I could purchase a voltage regulator. Anyway to buy a voltage regulator only. On the old dub I had it was held in by 2 screws, super easy to replace
  5. Is it a fuse or relay. Reason I ask is, you can buy a box of assorted fuses for $5 at harbor freight.
  6. Rear Diff oil - use mobil 1 GEAR oil/ Tranny fluid - use redline 75w-90NS or Valvoline Synpower
  7. Could it be as simple as a fan problem, such as - it not turning on while left in idle while you ran inside.
  8. You mpg's will go down and loss of performance. You could run some higher octane in it to make sure you don't knock. If the CEL is on then that means that knock sensor is failing/ not working the way it should. Don't romp on the gas, take it easy and don't rev it too high A online dealer such as subarugenuineparts.com will have a sensor for ~$50
  9. YAY!!! always fun Just wait till you get to play in a foot of snow...
  10. I know they make cabin air filters, not sure if this would actually help though. Ever try running the heat on full blast for awhle (with the windows down)? One question out of curiosity sake...Why are you switching from A/C to heat?
  11. The problem I had with valvoline synpower is the douchebags that put it in my car. As I said, it made me happy, but when I cant buy it unless I have to pay some douche at a quick lube to change it for me then I will use another oil. I couldn't find valvoline synpower gear oil anywhere except at the valvoline drive thru oil change locations, and they only sell it if they do the work. If I could get valvoline synpower gear oil shipped to my house, or buy it locally, I would change it on a warm day.
  12. MWE ftw!!!! I have a front axle and it's great, came in a timely fashion -esp. since they're so far away from me
  13. I tried the cocktail and hated it. I am using redline 75w-90NS right now and am pretty happy. Valvoline synpower also made me happy.
  14. offset is a big deal because of suspension clearance or caliper clearance. A search on this board will yield some good info, also cars101.com has a offset chart for all years of subaru IIRC. EDIT: http://www.cars101.com/subaru/tiresandwheels.html Hope this helps
  15. It's leaking, although I have no idea why. I had a whole bunch of stuff replaced (seals, clutch, etc...), and they either missed the upper hose or tightened it to tight and ripped it a little. It's such a small leak I didn't even notice it till I was under the car last oil change. It is leaking where it connects to the block, again very slightly. My coolant level is still good, but it erks me to know it's leaking.
  16. Do I really have to drain and fill the coolant, or can I just pop the upper hose off (with a lot of spillage)? After I replace the hose I would burb the system, but I'd like to avoid the whole drain/fill procedure if possibile. What is the best way to replace this hose?
