Nothing protects a car's finish better than a good coat of wax. Be sure to wax your chrome/aluminum well too, it will keep it from pitting. I posted a thread in the Historic Forum on how to make an oil formula for spraying the underbody to help prevent new rust. For rubber and plastics I use Pledge furniture polish, works better than Mother's Back-to-Black. I also use Pledge on the plastics inside the car, especially the clear plastic on the instrument gauge... keeps things looking nicer and lasts longer than Armorall. I also use a reflective sunshade in summer, it's the best defense against sun damage to the interior. Tire shine, sprayed in the wheel wells will help reduce those nasty "fenderbergs".

what are some things to do to your older non-rusted subaru to keep it looking good and prevent rust

I miss mine to:( its in winter storage. Went out to start it last week and just sitting in it made me realize how much I miss that car, cant wait for spring. Like that silver wagon nice car.

Is the rear end in my non-turbo loyal the same as a turbo model? Could I just swap the rears out without modifying anything else?

Out playing in the snow last night in my 90 4wd Loyal wgn and exhaust snapped behind the second cat. Any suggestions of how to a quick fix until I can get it into the muffler shop.

I’ve got a 90 4wd loyal wagon spfi with about 230thow on it. I'm guessing the fuel pump is located in the back because I can hear something running. Does this mean that it getting ready to go, or is this just a normal noise? How hard is a pump to change? Just notice it because the radio went out just last week.
