  1. Dealer here charges around $200 to do cam seals. I was quoted $450 for the timing belt, water pump, oil pump seal, and cam and crank seals...so if you need a timing belt you might want to have it all done since it is not to much. Hope this helps with figuring out how much it will cost.
  2. Are there more Brats in your area, Skip? It seems that north of Pittsburgh they are rare. I've only seen one here...but i've seen it multiple times.
  3. Is it a turbo? That is low mileage for a 1993. I take mine to the dealer for some stuff, and a local shop for other stuff. Pretty much anything engine related I go to the dealer for...but brakes, tires, clutch, etc. i'd go to whatever is cheapest (Usuly not the dealer)
  4. My 1995 Legacy used to click. It stopped one day when I was jumping a friends car and reved my engine to 6000 RPM for a few seconds. It never came back. Most people said it was some gunk in the valves or that the valves needed adjusting.
  5. I did mine in my Outback yesterday. I only had it turned off for less than two hours, and the fuel that did leak out was only a few ounces. It is really quick and easy.
  6. The 2.2l engines are very reliable...I'm not sure about the 2.0l ones. Those place the oil leaks from are the common places. The seals can go over 200,000 miles without a leak...but not always. You might not have to redo the seals again as long as you own the car. The engine in that car tends to have head gasket leaks. That is a bit costly to fix...but once its done the car will be fine for a long while. Gotta weigh the pros and cons. The Legacy GT is a beautiful car...but headgaskets cost a little over $1000 from the dealer. Then again, you might get lucky and never have a problem with them.
  7. Welcome to the board. Sounds like a great price. For around $3500 you got a nice car.
  8. It didn't have the ground clearence...just the two tone paint. In 1996 the manual tranny ones had the 2.2l.
  9. A year ago I paid $5995 for the same car, 92,000 miles. I am sure you can talk them down at least $1000. Good luck!
  10. Headlights should be the same. I have never seen Euros for the OBW...I don't even know if i've seen them for mid-90s Legacy sedans.
  11. Haha...i'm waiting for the Fourpeat and possible Fivepeat.

    CB Radios

Yeah...i'd like to put one in the empty slot above my cd player... Right now I have a handheld Cobra that hardly works unless someone is withing a few hundred feet of you
  13. I lost my chiltons manual, and the only information I can find online is place to buy the PCV valve. Can someone point me to where it would be located on an EJ22? Thanks!
  14. Because the EJ22 is so bad...and all the coolent seeps onto the ground from the EJ25 is so wonderful...oh wait... Well...the EJ22 can dump a lot of oil sometimes...but all Sube engines can
  15. It would make more sence to have the 2.2 and then use the 3.3l from the SVX instead of making the 2.5l. Both the 2.2 and 3.3 are decent engines when it comes to reliability. I guess the minor power upgrade in the 2.5l is why they replaced 2.2l with it. A bigger gas efficiant 4 cyl is what they were thinking.
  16. Yeah...$2,000 should cover it all...but try and get them really low...and after its fixed, you'll have a great car. I'd offer them like $2500 - $3000
  17. Congrats on getting the OBW on the road...and that is a great price for the car.
  18. Awesome. I'd be happy with a 3 inch lift and bigger tires on my Outback.
  19. 80,000 miles isn't that long of an exhaust life. My 95 Legacy went 210,000 miles or so before anything went wrong...and it was just a small hole or something...that a local shop welded and all is well now. Look for a nice cat back exhaust system...if I had the funds, that is what I would do. It dosnt have to be overly loud, and you may get some minor raise in power.
  20. That is what I was thinking. I'd go with the most well taken care of, low mileage one I could afford.
  21. You said it! She is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hot
