Egad! I remember a few years ago...one summer it was like 80 cents per gallon. -

I think ive seen a picture of the Saabaroo in Car and Driver or some mag. like that... Anyone have a picture of it online? I wanna get a look at it again. -
When I got my OBW I was getting 24 MPG. I put on a cone shaped air filter and was getting about 17 MPG. I used ABS glue to put the original back on and now I get about 20 - 22 MPG. Since gas is about $2 a gallon...i'd like to improve my mileage. I used some fuel injector cleaner and etc. Shoud I check out some junkyards for a new MAF sensor thing? There are no gaps with the glue...so I don't know why my mileage has gone down. Would the sensor and pipe part off a 2.5 and 1.8l Impreza and Legacy engine work on the 2.2l? Anyone else have any ideas? If gas was half this price i'd think nothing of it...but it just seems to keep getting more expensive. Thanks.

I am gonna go to a junkyard and get a new MAF sensor and pipe. Right now mine is glued to the box from how I modified it for the cone filter...so I really prob. only need that part that bolts on...but I prob. have to get the entire thing UPDATE: I pulled the battery cable, made sure everything was connected good...and took it for a drive and the light hasn't come on again yet...so I hope that solved it and it was just a one time thing.

So today the light came one...went and got it pulled...it was the 'fuel trim malfunction #0170' I looked into it...and on an Impreze board there was something about: P0107 means "Pressure sensor circuit low input." This is a problem with your Intake Air Temperature and Pressure Sensor, or its wiring. I took off the cone filter and put the old one back on...so something is obstructing the air from getting in? Is it used to a lot of air now? It runs fine...no problems. Should I be worried and start pulling stuff apart on the air filter? Thanks.

I'd also go with synthetic but I have 92,000 miles on my car and don't know if I should start with that many miles. -
Is it possible to have gas mileage lowerd greatly by a cone-shaped air filter? I don't know if its just me being paranoid or what. I usuly get 24MPG in my Outback...and it seems that i'm getting like a little over half that this tank...but it might be me. Please...any help would be cool. If it does lower gas mileage...I have to buy some duct tape and rubber sement so I can hook up the old one (I cut off the parts that stick out and bolt on to the box so I could get the cone on there )

Ok...so I got one of those bell shaped air filter things...I took off the box that was there and its just a screen and then the electronic things. The new filter thing will rest up to the pipe well but wont go on because of the parts with the electronics...so I duct taped it. It sounds great. It has the perfect sound at high RPMs. Ok...so what about the electronic part and putting the filter on. Should I get something there and leave the electronics on? Should I get rid of the electronics somehow? Any help for that would be goood.
