  1. I was just wondering the max towing capacity of a H6-3.0 wagon? A trailer without brakes...anyone know...I couldn't find it on Edmunds.com
  2. yeah...might be a lot now...but if you take care of the car and engine...that 2.2l engine will run for a really long time.
  3. Had the same problem...when i'd hit the gas the sound would get louder. I bought a new CD/MP3 headunit and the harness to put it in...and BANG...sounds perfect. Hope that helps
  4. What is the recomended interval for a timing belt change on a 2.2l SOHC?
  5. 4S3BD4359W6211991 If someone could run that for me that'd be real swell...I could paypal you a few dollars for your troubles. matt@mattocs.net is my email if someone wants to email the report on it. Thanks.
  6. I called the car was sold today or yesterday... BUT I found a 1998 Legacy L with 69,000 miles on it for $6400. Pictures look good...i'm gonna go look at it on Saturday...and when my aunt gets back from some conferance on Monday i'm gonna get financing for a car so as soon as I find one I like I can get it...none of this having other people buy a car that was meant for ME
  7. I think you're kinda close to me...I am from Slippery Rock (just up I79 from Pittsburgh) Kerven Subaru in Butler, PA is a decent place...costly (its a dealer) but they get the job done and do a good job.
  8. Slippery Rock, PA...its about 45 miles north of Pittsburgh. (Western PA)
  9. Also, what is the official name for that brownish grey color Subaru used on 95 Legacys?
  10. Funny story...I knocked my wireless mouse in a bucket of water (a little water for a water change in my fishtank) so my girlfriend was taking me to Staples to get a new mouse and I wanted to stop and look at a 1998 Legacy GT but then I saw a 1995 Legacy L with only 89,000 miles...so I went in and talked to the guy and when we were leaving some drunk mechanic backed into my girlfriends car (1986 Oldsmobile)...he addmitted to have been drinking and etc... ANYWAYS Its a 1995 Legacy L...5 speed...89,000 miles...AWD...A/C...other basic stuff the L comes with...$4400. I talked with my aunt and she said she'd cosign a loan for me from out credit union (i'm 18 and have very little credit) so yeah...I hope that the car dose not sell. There was an ad in the paper for it a few weeks ago and it still hasn't sold...so I hope its there for another week or so. The dealer said that he changed both the gas sensors since the gauge didn't work...and it has a brand new battery. Original timing belt, clutch, and seals...but it has a new muffler on it (dosnt look nice like the one on my current 1995 L.) Anyways...just a rant here...I hope I get the car...i'm gonna go to the credit union tomorrow to get the loan papers (I could have it paid off in a few months if I wanted to) but i'll drag it out over a year so I have some other money...
  11. it costed me $20. I bought a new one, and installed it myself. Very easy on a 1995 Legacy.
  12. A little oil use is nothing...when the cam seals went i'd lose about 3 quarts every time i'd stop...and on a trip of more than 30 min i'd have to stop and fill her up again...heh...that was an expensive summer until it got fixed Now it does not use much oil at all...i've checked it...always in the OK area on the dip stick.
  13. Offer like $2.5k and see what he says. A new engine and trans. are a bit expensive...but it'd be like a new car if the body is all well...heh...i'd go for it
  14. hrrrm...that is a lot of miles. I dunno...price isn't bad for the year...worst thing that could happen is you buy a new engine/trans and have a nice car. As long as the body is good i'd concider it.
  15. oil seal...had it done...dripped a bit. cam seal...had it done...i'd lose 3 quarts of oil at every stop and it smoked and smelled really bad. they were like $800 each...shoulda had them both done at the same time.
  16. lol my roters just replaces 21k miles ago (11 months ago) brakes need to last longer :-D
  17. I talked t o my girlfriend and she said she'd go to the meet/show thing with me. I really hope I can make it out there...its only like 4 hours from me. I will let you know before that deadline if i'm in
  18. Yeah..I said 'My Subaru has 209,000 miles or so and still runs...not many prolems' so I dunno if he assumed the brakes where that old or what when he said that. I just was like 'OMG' because it scared me...heh. I hope to have a new Subaru by early May
  19. I had a problem like that...it was that little plastic guard (it looked like it caught stuff that'd fall or something)...came loose and would rub...but could only be heard when going slow.
  20. When he said 50k I was thinking he meant like engine life in the car. 50,000 miles for brakes is FINE! :-D Heh...I got worried...I'd hope i'd get a lot more than 50,000 miles out of a Subaru.
  21. I needed a new rotor and pad on my front drivers side wheel. $210 at Monro...so that sucked...and then the guy said 'in the new Subarus you're lucky if you see 50,000 miles.' That made me sick to my stomach. So now i'm torn...do I really need all wheel drive? Perhaps a Hyundai or a Toyota will be much more worth it than a new Legacy. I just wish I could buy another brand new 1995 Legacy and all would be well. Anyone out there with new Subaru's have problems yet? I want a new Subaru...but I also want to get 200,000 miles out of the car.
  22. I'd like to meet some people from the board and get a look at their rides. I am gonna go look at the 2004 Legacy again sometime soon...so if I get it before then i'll be in :-D
