  1. You would be correct. GCK axles are NEW, but they are reengineered to a higher level of performance then OEM.
  2. There's a good chance that blowing the tyre saved the rest of your steering components. Like said above, you'll have to drive it to find out
  3. Welcome to the USMB, the best subaru site on the interwebs:banana: . Need to up load a few pictures, first of the twins and how you got around the steering and brakes. Then of your dog:clap: . Later, Tim
  4. Mick, I'm hoping you've got some pictures. I was really missing the wheeling this weekend:( . Hope you had a great time!!!! Tim
  5. I'd love a rust free OK body, I could pick it up under the guise of having my wife go home for a visit;) . Tim
  6. I get mine from the dealership, the difference in quality is staggering:eek: . Tim
  7. I have a torn boot on one of mine that I bought off the net. I asked the guy at Auto Zone if they would do the warrenty and he said they would work some thing out to get it taken care of. That might not go for all AZs but I do alot of business with mine. Tim
  8. Who the heck cares, if you've got that much rust your just putting off the inevitable. Here's my tip of the week........ Get some of the nylon window screen and put it on the inside of were you are spraying the foam. It will get encapsulated and add some strentgh to your foam. Spray foam FTW:headbang: :headbang: . Tim
  9. I declared my Hatch done a couple of weeks ago, a three year work in progress. I was going to limit work to mantenance and things that broke from abuse etc. Well, I finaly got around to replacing the broken antena and when I jacked it up I discovered bad ball joints and inner tierods, the ball joints I replaced in the begining of this project ( I never replaced the innner tierods). This time I will be using genuine Subaru parts, a little extra money but well worth it!! And so it begins again Tim
  10. This sounds like a job for Miles Fox and the Traveling Subaru Gypsies
  11. As I read it on the WRC page just his son was with him. What a tragity all the way around . Tim
  12. Why struggle with such a hard question, just build one of each:lol:
  13. That's a beauty!!!! Hard to belive someone had given up on it. I'd love to have an XT6, or even an XT4 for that matter. Great score, thanks for sharing, Tim
  14. Hey Matt, I have one your more then welcome to barrow. I'm not sure what shipping would be, (might be enough to justify buying one). Let me know, tim
  15. Funny time to read this thread:rolleyes: . I just got done pulling the back seat out of our 06 WRX 'cause my wife smelled "something dead" in the car. Sure enough, there was a little nest in there. I've had a couple of times were I've pulled nests from on top of the A/C compressor too. I sprinked some Arm & Hammer carpet deoderizer under the seat in hopes of getting rid of the smell. Later, Tim
  16. Do your car a favore and don't mix tyres!!!! All four should be the same size and brand. It doesn't take much size difference to start messing stuff up. You may be able to find a stock 14" rim in Europe, I've seen them on at least one wagon from the UK. Later, Tim
  17. First thought........ "this thread would be great with BDG involved" Second thought......."if it turns out that EA82s will do 130mph I wasted 25 grand on a WRX" Just seemed like a good point to insert some humor:lol: I took my 87 GL10 wagon to 105 with a 3spd auto, but it wasn't going to give me much more then that:-p
  18. On ESPN 2, 5:30 EST. Thursday 6 Sept from Beminji (sp?) MN. My boss is going to try and record it for me:banana: . Tim
  19. Sorry to bring this back after so long but I just got an up-close look at the 08s. Love the spec B Legacy, just a classy sporty looking car The Imprezas were not as hidious as I thought they would be from the pictures, but as was already stated they look like alot of other cars on the road I didn't care at all for the hatch back thing, just to much junk in the trunk, like a mini Tribeca (didn't like that at all) I did like the sport grill and hood scoop on the WRX, however, the one they had was a Hatch back (see above). All in all I'm glad I have an 06 WRX with just over 7k on it, it will have to last for a very long time to come . Just my .02, Tim
  20. Sorry Mick, not this year:( . I've been gone way to much this summer as is. Hopefully with some preplanning next year I'll make it. Try and get some pics, jelousy is a great motivator:slobber: . tim
  21. Okay. now it is finished:clap: . It does get alittle warm when it is just idleing. but once it gets moving goes down immediately. I'm thinking of going to a 180º T-stat to see if that will help keep it cooler at an Idle. You can definately feel the air going into the scoop:grin: . Felt good to drive my little hatch after having it sit all spring and summer:headbang: . Later, Tim
  22. Duh!!! good call 91, I was thinking relays. Please disregard my respone to that item. Tim
  23. The horn is on the radiator support, I can't remember if you have to pull the rad or grill but it's in there I'd start by pulling the inside door cover off and check for grease, or lack of. Also that nothing is impending the movement There are two levers, one sets the hight and the other is the release, make sure you are using the correct lever. under the dash, left of steeringwheel. There are four in a row. You can check the "Ultimate Subaru Repair Manual", it is just down the forums list about half way, or someone I'm sure can email you one. Later, Tim
