  3. Rob should be in my nagborhood (hate spelling that word) just about supper time
  4. I'm another Seafoam guy, but use Marvel Mystry Oil in the crank case. You'll be amazed:eek: . Tim
  5. Final answer: drivers side front axle. Picked up a GCK from Auto Zone, had it in in under an hour and now it's smooth a silk Tim Just wouldn't be right with out a picture....
  6. DONE!!! Wow, talk about easy, only glitch was I didn't have a 32mm so I had to run into town for one. Now while I have two corners off the ground I'm going to rotate the tyres:banana:  . I went the ball joint and sway bar route, just for future reference. Thanks again for the help, Tim
  7. Swing by, we can do them together  . Later, Tim PS I just got a PM from ED. He has a right up in the Repair Manual.
  8. Doing my first EJ axle, front drivers side on a 97 Outback. I've done alot of EA ones so I have the basics down just looking for any tips/tricks to make this an easy job. Thanks, Tim
  9. You beat me to it!! LUK makes a very good clutch, about $200 for the whole kit and it is all new not a reman. I did melt one at the MWSS II but ask anyone who saw what I was doing and it was impressive to say the least. Later, Tim
  10. Just click the "photos" link on the right hand side of this post. Oh, and welcome aboard. Tim
  11. I have to take this back. I gave him a call and after shipping and all it was way more expensive then a new GCK from AZ so I went with them. If it was a case were I could just go pick up an axle I'd be far more inclined to go that route. Tim
  12. Excellent bit of inovation!!!! . Tim
  13. Man, that is just great:headbang: . I've been contemplating having our 91 S10 painted. But after seeing the result on that Corvair I may make an attempt, can't hurt it any more then what it is now:lol: . There is no rust or body danage but the truck is from OK and the paint is baked. Thanks for posting that pictorial. Tim
  14. Anyone happen to catch it or maybe record it??? Not one of the channels I get with my $13 cable package:rolleyes: . Later, Tim
  15. Just another notch in the "old guy" belt, but at least on a knowledge bases I'm not a geek:lol:  . Thanks for the tid-bit, Tim
  16. Here's my story..... I bought a 97 OBW for $3100 with 142,000 on it. I didn't realize that it had a bad HG until after I bought it. I just replaced the motor with a CCR reman and it has been a great car since. Sure, I have to do maintenance repairs on it but for what we use the car for it is well worth it to us. I think that with a known HG problem you should get it fairly cheap. Just my .02, Tim
  17. Welcome to the board, you just missed the annual Saylorville lake camping trip for this year. Stick around for next year it's a great time. Look for Mcbrat, he's down there with you. Later, Tim
  18. Well the new drive shaft is in and the vib is still there:mad: . However, they did a really nice job on the DS, and hey, I did have two binding U-joints so it was a sooner or later job, just wish it wasn't sooner. I'll keep you up on the progress. Tim
  19. You have three options but can only use two of them........ FAST GOOD CHEAP Pick two but remember you won't get the third
  20. I've bought three motors from them, I had problems with one but they took care of it in a big way. Emily and Rick are great people to deal with, give Emily some time and she will get back to you. I won't coment on price, each one is different but remember, you get what you pay for. Later, Tim
  21. I've got a little more work done. I bought a new rad and had the filler moved I was also busy working on the hood scoop....... I still need to do some work on it but it is coming together nicely Later, Tim
  22. I just got off the phone with the drive line guy (Jeff) at Drive Line Specialist and I ordered one from them. I decided not to get a used one (not that any of the yards around here even had one:rolleyes: ) and the local drive line shop was a little leary of the job and thought it would be expensive too. Shipping was also included in the $369 price so that was a deal closer. I'll let you know how the quality is after I get it, and everything put back together. Later, Tim
  23. Hey Rob, Davevalent is in Rapid city SD and I'm in Sioux Falls (three miles off the interstate). I'll be sending you a PM with # etc. We're a good place for a rest or help if needed. Have a safe trip, Tim
