  1. The last time I tried it, it did not work. Lots of rubbing. Sorry, Tim
  2. I've bought alot of stuff from Jim. He's a good guy to work with. Just be sure to stick to email corrospondence, $3 a minute on the phone is a killer:eek:  . Later, Tim
  3. The guys over at AUsubaru have a few of them on thier board. Just imagine the steering wheel on the left hand side...LOL Tim
  4. Mine are both gone too. I was thinking of going to Auto Body Specialties here and seeing if there is a generic substitute. $75 is alot, but I'll pay it if I have to. Later, Tim
  5. I couldn't say one way or the other if Ruzilla would make it or not but it would be a blast to try. Sure wish I could have a recovery team on stand by when I go wheeling:lol: . Later, Tim
  6. Radio Shack or the Dealership for the bulbs. I know there is a good write-up on replacing them. Congrats, Tim
  7. So I'm an old school guy but the pressure plates and flywheels on the EA series moters have to be offset by 120º as indicated by a "0" stamped into each component. Do the newer clutch set-ups requier this as well??? If so, that is where I'd start looking. Tim
  8. I might as well add my new pride and joy to this.........
  9. Okay here's a sample, I've put a few more in my albums............ This little car is really not in bad shape for it's age, milage and salty environment. Later, Tim
  10. If you have a bit of money to spend give CCR a call and ask them if Kerry is still rebuilding them. Like GD said, "You are in Portland - land of the Subaru. Head over to Foster U-Pull-It and grab one for $25." That would definately be your best bett. If NE is anything like SD stuff is hard to come by in the yards and exspensive too. just a thought, Tim
  11. I was thinking manual swap, no pictures yet, The sun roof will do just fine and yes it is his maroon one. Man you guys ask alot of questions:lol: . I'l get pics up as soon as I get a little day light to take some. Later, Tim
  12. I got a call from Bill, he asked if I was interested in an 84 turbo coupe. Well, I was, and now I've joined the ranks of EA81 turbo owners:banana: . The little guy needs some love but in 15º weather it started on the first crank and got home with out a problem. I'm probably not going to do much with it untill spring, but when I do it will get the attention that it needs. Great interior, minimal rust, and it runs. I think I'm in love...........again:headbang: . Later and thanks again Bill, Tim
  13. At 150K you might want to concider just replacing it with a CCR reman. Mine went at about the same point in it's life, that and a bottle of snake oil head gasket repair in a bottle. Just a thought, Tim
  14. When the hearse comes to your house................. A sad day indeed . But as a organ donor he made a difference in the life of another subby. Later, Tim
  15. I just went through that with my latest CCR motor. I had the single passenger side plate. They shipped me one but there wasn't enough material left in the block to mount it. I'm glad we don't have "smog nazi's" I just had a custom exhaust made with EA82 pipes. Later, Tim
  16. From your discription, it sounds like a ground wire. Was it a black wire??? I'd just dig around in the wireing on that fender well, I tuck loose wires up there to hold them when I pull motors. If it is a ground then it is definately importaint, maybe not right off but it will end up causeing you problems at some point. Hope you find it, Tim
  17. You are very blessed that's all you did. I had the same thing happen on my Hatch, I just happen to be in a school zone so I was only doing about 10mph but this was the result of mine.......... Later, Tim
  18. Wow, just Wow!!! Great photo essay (no spanish pun intended). Tim
  19. I just had one custom made and it was $40, which I was glad to pay. The rest of the exhaust was another $100. I took in an old motor with only the pipes coming off the heads and he took it from there. Great idea as far as I'm concerned, Tim
  20. It looks like you are trying to post it directly from your C drive. You need to put your picture on the web some where and then link to it. Tim
  21. Hi Jim, glad to see you're still around. Yes it is common for a Weber to hit the P/S on an EA82. The only remedy on a DGV is to turn it around and run it backwards. That or use the Weber that is already 180º off (can't recall the designation at this time). I also "think" that a manual choke will solve the problem. Later, Tim
  22. I'm just jumping in here with a guess as there isn't a lot of info in this thread (I'm assuming this is related to a different thread). Did you look into "torque bind" in the tranny. Just a though from what I've read. also, U-joints will cause a clunck, but not necessarily when going around a corner. Later, Tim
  23. I will tell you from experience that you will not be sorry for going through CCR. I have bought an EA82T, an EA81 and an EJ25 from them. I had a bit of trouble with the EA81 and it was replaced with a completly different motor. You will not find a better product, support, or for that matter people then the team at CCR. (I'm not a payed endorser, just a very happy customer:banana:  ). Later, Tim
