  1. Glad I read this whole post, reaffirms my decision to just replace the whole 142k 2.5 in my OBW with a CCR long block. Later, Tim
  2. Hi Shawn's Mom!!! Yep, the pretty new OBW. At least now I'll have the peace of mind to know what I have in it:) . Have a great weekend, Tim
  3. Well, I've had it with fighting the head gasket war!!! Just got off the phone with Emily and it should be on it's way next week. That is where all of you come in..... I'll be attempting to do the engine swap myself with a little help from YOU:) . Most of you know me as a fairly competent mechanic, but this is venturing into new territory. I'll keep you posted on progress and even include pictures!!! Later and thanks in advance, Tim
  4. Nicely done lad!!! and with the part number, they are indeed 2wd struts. Can't wait to get back into OEM 4wd struts . Later, Tim
  5. Struts are blue, made in England part numbers 71786 drivers side and 71785 passenger side Tell me, oh tell me, what is the name brand?? These are the struts on DRTYGRL (87 GL Wagon) What I really want to know is the application cause they seem to sit to low even with 4" strut extenders. Thanks, Tim
  6. From my understanding this all kind of erupted over a law suit in IA for deceptive business practices. It was one of those JD Byrider type places that will give you in house financing but at a high intrest rate. (Just another case of not taking responsibility on the purchasers end if you ask me). Now there is a state senator involved who worked for the bank/took campagnine money/signed off on loans. Just nasty all the way around. I'd say from the news reports, that there was mismanagment on his part, but who know till it all comes out in the wash. Tim
  7. Do a title search in the new gen side, most find it revolting to be kind:lol: Tim
  8. I agree 100%. People see that and think "must not be a very good car" or "I bett they're junk, can't keep a dealer in business" etc etc. I'm really hopeing someone gets in there and buys the place. Later, tim
  9. Just to clearify, I don't work there. I just like alot of the people who do. Later, Tim
  10. Major bummer for me and all the good folks working here......... http://www.keloland.com/NewsDetail2817.cfm?Id=0,40997
  11. Hey Ed, not sure how close he will be to me but my services are yours if he's in the area. I'll PM you my numbers. Tim
  12. I talked to Mick this Afternoon and he is making good time, he was West of Mitchel. Sounded like he was doing good. Tim
  13. I got both of mine at "Ultimate Electronics". Probably very simular to a "Ciruit City". They may have to order it but they are available. Later, Tim
  14. The Subby specific adaptor is awesome and a cheap fix. I've got them on two of my old 'ru's and they work great. Saves alot of heart ache for about $15!! Later, Tim
  15. Try this........http://www.boltdepot.com/ They have lenghts past 100mm, but not cheap. Later, Tim
  16. I just used this tread to change mine and it's true, a picture is worth a thousand words. One little clue, make sure the engine is cool before you do it. Space is way to tight to be putting hands into hot spaces:eek: . Later, Tim
  17. That's just what I was thinking. Unless your planning on driving at 120+ mph for extended periods the stock wing will be just fine, and it will look "correct" for the car. Tim
  18. I think he was saying that he marked them with tension, that way when retentioned they would be correct. A great idea!!!! Thanks for the tip, Tim
  19. Just replace the whole Alternator, it might be a bad regulator. Don't worry about your command of the english language, you do better then a few who speak it as there first language:) . Later, Tim
  20. If you need to tap for a Heli-coil, coat the tap with axle grease. Most of the shavings will stick to it and come out with the tap. Tim
  21. I think we are going to only bring one car. We have two camp sites reserved for Friday and Saturday. So if you need a camp site you can have #73 for $32. Call "Debo" to claim it. Thanks, Tim
  22. All the thermostats I've ever bought from Subaru (and thats quiet a few) have been 192º. My parts guy told me thats what they call for so That's what I put in. Tim
  23. I put a pint of Sea Foam Trany treatment in my 97 OB yesterday and the improvement is very noticable. I am going to have the fliud changed though too, I just want to get some "pre-cleaning" going on. Tim
