  1. Well, I checked out the reservoir and, yup, it was down to minimum. I filled it and away went the light. Thanks guys..... ....b
  2. Sweden... thank you Sir. That will be the first thing I do in the morning. .....b
  3. OK... So, did you put the fluid in the reservoir or on the switch? My '98 is doing the same thing now & I'd like to resolve this light thingy thanks...... b
  4. I'm getting a noise from the rear sounding like the tire is rubbing when I hit a bump or go around a corner & hit a bump at the same time. Either side. Lester (Les Schwab) says "the tires can't ever rub on anything even if the cars suspension is totally compressed". I looked at the area of where the spring is above the tire & it appears to be over the tire by an inch or so. This leads me to believe that "Lester" is not correct and the tire can touch the spring & cause this noise. Would bad shocks cause this? Car has 108,000 miles with original shocks. This brings me to the question of shock replacement. I've searched these threads with no luck regarding a "How To". I haven't actually gotten under the car to view the shocks & see if the logical way to replace them hits me in the face! (maybe I should) I've done shock replacement on Porsche 914's so I have some experience. TIA ....b
  5. Nope, wished it were. Tha'd be an easy fix. Had a devil of a time tryin t'flip the lil cover off the shaft but finally got it. Fairly simple to remove the motor & gear assembly... & get it all back together w/o parts left over. ......b
  6. Hello! New to the forum but not new to Subarus. Working on my 4th right now. I have a 98 Outback Sport and it just turned 98K. My problem: Rear wiper decided to quit. I can hear a click in back when I turn the switch to use it. Tested the motor today and it's fine. The dealership said I'd need a new wiring harness installed to the tune of $500. I checked the wiring as far as the rubber tube in the upper right corner of the hatchback & there's continuity from the plug of the motor to there. Must be somewhere else. Anyone have ideas of where to begin looking for the short or broken wire.. or, maybe something else? TIA.. .........b
