  1. Nice ride! Any major rust from being a beach runner? Any major mods planned?
  2. Nice write up and seems you got a sube that isn't too bad (except for the crazy rattle can paint job!) Great you can knock out most repairs on it yourself, like many of us do on here! Keep the write ups coming....I'm on and off over the years here...had to get rid of my subes with moving (sadness) and am looking at an tan wagon that's like yours and locally owned-if I can talk the guy down from his $2000 asking price! Keep the posts coming, eager to see what else you do to the Sube and for inspiration.
  3. Welcome and that's a Great Brat! I miss my 85 Brat!
  4. I switched my shifts with a coworker, so I can go this Sunday October 25th. I'm going to pull some rear disks, seats, etc etc things I need off other subes then I'll jump on the wagon. I'll get all I can while there..and take pics of the rest. If I can't get everything that day I'll see if I can get back before they crush it.
  5. Great write up! Keep posting! I so want one of these in the 77-79 range. There is a 78? 79? wagon at the local You Pull Yard here in Albuquerque. I'm going to see if I can get there tomorrow, if not then next week for sure. I'm thinking of cannibalizing it... I'll let you know, and take pics of it's condition-things don't rust too much here in the Southwest...
  6. There's a 78? 79? wagon at the local You Pull Yard here in Albuquerque. I was thinking of stripping what I could off it myself, even tho I don't have one of those years yet..... Things are not rusted that bad here in the Southwest. I'm going to see if I can get there Tuesday 10/20 (Tomorrow) if not I'm definitely hitting the Yard next week. I need some rear disks and a 5 speed for a 84 hatch project I have... I'll take pics of the wagon, see if I can pull anything etc.. .maybe I can go back and swipe a few things if you still need them
  7. Welcome Ronnie, you'll find a ton of info here and assistance from the members!
  8. Don't eat the "Almonds"....something for future sube sellers to tell us....
  9. Welcome Chris! Looks like you're off to a great start on doing all your own repair work! I hadn't done much auto work besides changing oil and breaks until I got the Subaru Bug about 12 years ago... since then I've learned a ton, still have more to learn. You'll find the people on this board a great resource!
  10. Welcome! An engine an no soob body for it to go in? Yes, that needs to be remedied! Good luck in finding a suitable vehicle!
  11. Welcome! Yes, we'd like to see pictures of the Soob in the Mountains!
  12. @Henpecked and @ Grossgary the list says 1995-2001 EJ22 are all Phase II-is this true, or is it just a generalized "lumping" of all the engines in that era as a Phase II?
  13. Good question, I've been looking into EJ swap myself... great answer matt167!
  14. Wow, that 82 Coupe looks to be in good shape! That's a score! I think I saw a white one for sale on craigslist in OK? Where did you get this one? Welcome! you'll find a ton of help here!
  15. Welcome! I've found this site to be invaluable over the years! You'll be surprised at what you'll discover here!
  16. I'm curious to see the set up on both of your vehicles... I picked up an '84 GL hatchback yesterday and I note the headlight glass doesn't match, which the bulbs probably aren't any better. I've going to upgrade. (Engine is out so I've no idea if the current lights even work)
  17. Welcome! You will learn MUCH here! The group is very helpful!
  18. Welcome! You're gonna find a TON of usefull info and helpful folks here! Free! Gotta love those!
  19. Welcome! I had a Baje for several years and loved it! Great choice! I hate that the model didn't go over so well...
  20. Welcome! The 85-86 range seems to be the years I've had the most of. I'm fond of those years!
  21. Nice Wagon! particularly for WV! Good plan to restore since it's in that kind of shape!
  22. wow... Extremely Nice work! I agree, the retrofitting looks clean and spot on! And all of those parts straight outta Japan! Arrrgh! Can't wait to see more!
  23. Tell me about the interior and the rust on this wagon? You're about 7 hours away from me but if the car is in good shape, and the lift, etc work you've done...it's worth your price to me... I would have to figure out how to get it here...as in, if paying someone to haul it is worth it... let me do some digging on that..

  24. Daniel~

There's a 93 legacy wagon on craigs for $350-no title... I want it if its a manual trans...been wanting to but a manual in my Baja, and use the engine to replace a E82... it's probably 30 min from me, how's the cops here for snagging you if you buy a car with no title an drive it home?

I noticed another 93 four door, good shape-white ext, on craigs guy is asking around $1000 and there is a 93 or 96 wagon in santa fe for $650, manual but needs a clutch...just in case you are interested...

Gonna call that guy tomorrow on the $350 wangon, that's a deal!

    later, Shane
