  1. ah cool, congrats on graduating! let me know if you ever hit up roads around corvallis. good luck in the workin world
  2. well i met up with ed at the rallyx, and i saw your car and stood around but never bumped into ya! i was there from 12-4:30 but didnt race, just took lots of pics.
  3. Yup its a green (muddy) impreza coupe, it would be cool to meet up sometime, there are 4 or 5 other (newer) subaru friends that are OSU students as well as countless others ive just met. but we should meet up sometime, like the rallycross! im replacing my wheel bearing, relocating the coolant tank, and custom saab intercooling my motor all this week in prep for the rallyx, im hopin it will be happy running 12lb's of boost heres an un-muddy pic: sry about the size
  4. let me know if you would like to get rid of the H&R springs
  5. I havent posted much on this forum but everyone seems really cool and ive been lookin for some good roads to play on in my impreza around corvallis OR. I am an OSU student and have lived in corvallis my whole life but i still only know a few roads on Mary's Peak and id love for someone to show me around that knows the place better. i have seen some lifted old school subies around town, and i think my car would fit in better with that crowd than the wrx/sti bunch :-p i have a green 95 impreza coupe, 22t and awd swapped, wrx wheels... next project is custom skidplates wave if ya see me!
  6. non-intercooled and 8.7psi factory. that extra injector was what i was thinkin of, i think i get it now, cool. my friend is going to do a bunch of editing his e-prom on his DSM, he gets to learn some basic hex yipee
  7. yeah it would make sense that they would make hesitation worse if anything. you cant hook up a boost controller to the PP and have it read boost? i thought it could handle one more sensor or something.
  8. it seems that bmxpunk tuned out his hesitation after he put the sti 550's in. does the PP get rid of things like fuel cut since the ECU is pretty limiting?
  9. can i ask what your plannin to tune it with? whats the best combo with a wideband? those are really great numbers, now if only i could get my tps to work
  10. hmm lots of reasons i can see! thanks guys. BUT, the EJ22T is a non-interference motor, OBDI, 181 ft-lbs @ 2800 rpm, are you guys talking lower than that? the turbo doesnt really need to "spool" because its so puny, on wastegate its like 6psi. also for the VSS, ive heard of people converting a ABS sensor (from any car) into a vehicle speed sensor, really its just got to oscillate 5V. anyways it makes sense why youd pick the N/A EJ22, i was just kinda wondering if anyone had tried the 91-94 legacy turbo EJ22T. thanks for the input--- im an impreza guy and have that turbo motor in my car and its fun, couldnt imagine it in an off-roadin GL!
  11. im just curious why a bunch of you 80's subaru guys are upgrading the ea engines to the EJ22 NA? why not a EJ25, EJ22T or even EJ20? i understand most of your cars are used offroad a lot and high horsepower isnt a need, but if you do the work for a EJ22 NA then why not more? the EJ22T makes 181 ft-lbs at 2800, everyone can use low end torque. just figured id throw that out there. -nathan
  12. well thats cool, i was under the impression they were ONLY made overseas but i guess not.
  13. yeah your not gonna find to many 4.44's in the US unless you ship em from japans WRX's...
  14. what ive heard the EJ18 handles boost better than any other NA blocks, but 6 psi would be good, thats wastegate on the VF-11 turbo that comes on the legacy turbo. its not all bolt up, the crossmember and headers and turbo would bolt on, but you would have to drill a hole in the head for the oil lines for the turbo unless you want your turbo to die. i ran my EJ22T on the 1.8 ECU and it was OK but fueled and possibly knocked terribly... the other way around im sure it would run but wouldnt be too fun of a daily driver im guessing, plus it would be slow since the legacy is heavier than an impreza. a shortblock swap might be too much work to be worth it but it would run the best, (2.2T heads intake manifold and boost control stuff, then you dont have to worry about the oil feed line cuz its there) it would probably be higher compression so watch out... what i would do is take the legacy turbo and make the EJ22T run! whats wrong with it? youll undoubtedly have the most fun with a working EJ22T over a EJ18 turbo conversion. good luck
  15. the wiring should be very simple as long as you have the engine harness and ECU to work with, might end up having to run custom wires from the ECU but thats easy if you have an ECU pinout. now if you were wiring a turbo motor then yeah... thats hard haha. i cant figure out my EJ22T wiring, i should go work on it now.
