Alright, i figured it out. Just for the record, in case anybody else might be curious down the road. To take out the radio, first:
Remove the Cup holder by opening it, then pressing down on the button on the top of it in between both the holes and pulling the hole unit out.
Then remove both the larger screws on each side.
Open the center console and remove the two screws holding the casing for the e-brake. Then simply pull up and remove the cover.
Once the ebrake cover is removed you can then remove the cover for the shifter, but first place the shifter in the lowest position.
Finally, remove the ash tray and remove the two screws that are fastened above it, allowing you to pull out the plastic molding around the radio.
There are six screws holding the radio in place, one in each of the four corners, and one more on each side of the radio that are fastened farther back into the dash. They're easily noticable with a flashlight.
AFter all six screws are out, the radio housing slides right on out.
